Hyperlynx

Hyperlynx aka Nathan Wood, has been making electronic music under various monikers for about 10 years. He shows this skill and diversity in this 6 track EP, setting the bar high for the quality that 170+ Recordings strives for. 

Starting things off we have ‘Casual’, a warm and funky, horn-filled vibe, with 808s, wobbling basslines and plenty of amens, what more could you ask for?! 

The titled track ‘Love yourself First’ brings us to a completely new soundscape that is experimental yet familiar. The strong synth work surrounded by arps lead us to the drop that absolutely blows our minds. 

The vision was clear here, and following such an impactful piece of music it only made sense to bring things back home with ‘Won’t Let Go’ - this soulful lullaby carefully resets our palettes with the lush vocals of bbmac.

Intermission:
Next up, we flip the script with ‘Lightweight’, which drops us on our heads, a nod to the past with rave whistles, the old warehouse atmosphere and an MC. All intricately crafted into a moody dance floor weapon. 

 ‘How Do You Like Me Now’ hits us with contagious vocals, a raspy bassline and big synths, neatly tucked into stepping drum work. 

 Lastly we have ‘High Alert’, leaving us with a total anthem! The plucky bass guitar and wide stereo imaging finished off this EP with true class!
