Fishy

Our faithful companion Fishy from Norway brings us another EP and proves that he is a true soul brother. His sound becomes more and more mature and clearly defined, musically as well as technically, and so The River EP is another highlight of his skills. A mixture of soulful and familiar atmospheric sounds awaits the ambitious listener. The EP opens with "In My Mind" and its brisk beat, charming female vocals, pithy bass and Rhodes applications. Number two "Breaking Through" impresses with minimalistic beats, a very low bass line, beautiful piano playing and atmo pads. Continue with "Life" and the title keeps what it promises, it spreads life feeling with euphoric string phrases, bending synth hit sounds, little arpeggios, solid beat and old school bass. Last but not least, the title track "The River" is Soul Bros. Records head Rowpieces' absolute favorite because of the super dreamy atmosphere and the 90's feeling created by e-piano chords, soft synth pads, casual beat and decent bass line. What more could you ask for?
