Sungate joins friends and family with a V.A in support of the victims of the storms in Valencia. On October 28th, flash floods decimated the better part of the southern and western areas of Valencia, alongside many other points of Spain. What followed was a catastrophic event resulting in storm surges, collapsing bridges, thousands stuck on roads and streets, ultimately leading to a death toll that is now estimated over 200, and unfortunately, rising. Homes, animal shelters, businesses and families have been destroyed by this catastrophe. An event that caught thousands out in the street, heading to and from school, work, and daily lives unalerted. Severe warnings only got to our phones 10 hours after, despite being warned by weather centers and flood prevention institutions for days. With Sungate’s staff both residing and having ties to the city, we’ve decided to release “Healing Rays”, a compilation of 22 tracks by artists close to the label to gather funds to re-distribute to those most in need, buy essential products and help in the re-construction of a damaged region. We are joining a series of charitable releases from others in the city that has seen a wave of supporting press, and more importantly, an overwhelming amount of support. We are infinitely thankful to Marco Spaventi for mastering this release and all the artists that have given their music away for the cause. The Sungate team Sungate reúne a amigos y familiares en un VV.AA que tiene como objetivo ayudar a las víctimas de la DANA en Valencia El 28 de octubre, unas inundaciones repentinas diezmaron la mayor parte del sur y oeste de la provincia de Valencia, junto a otros puntos de España. Lo que ha sucedido ha sido una auténtica tragedia con marejadas ciclónicas, el colapso de puentes, miles de personas atrapadas en casas, carreteras, calles, y, en última instancia, una cifra de pérdida de vidas humanas que actualmente se sitúa por encima de los 200 pero que tristemente se espera que aumente durante los próximos días. Esta catástrofe ha destruido hogares, refugios de animales, negocios, y familias. Pese a que los centros meteorológicos y las instituciones de prevención de inundaciones habían alertado a las autoridades días antes, el aviso a la población civil no llegó a nuestros teléfonos hasta 10 horas después del inició de la DANA, lo que sorprendió a miles de personas en la calle dirigiéndose o volviendo del colegio o el trabajo Como el equipo de Sungate reside y tiene vínculos muy estrechos con la ciudad hemos decidido lanzar “Healing Rays”, una compilación de 22 temas de artistas cercanos al sello, para recaudar fondos y redistribuirlos entre los que más lo necesitan, ya sea para la compra de productos esenciales o para ayudar en la reconstrucción de la región. También nos uniremos a otros lanzamientos benéficos que han organizado en la ciudad, que ha visto una oleada de apoyo por parte de la prensa, pero sobretodo, y especialmente, por parte de la población civil.
