The ‘Vantage Point’ compilation brings together a group of artists doing exciting things in the realms of jungle, drum and bass and dark garage. Marking a new departure for Halogen Music, the compilation features label regulars like Corrupted, J.Nomad, Mystic State, Crypticz and Samurai Breaks as well as new additions Bredren, GREAZUS, Gunston, Mtwn, Solace and Imprint.

From half-time jungle that is light on its feet, to lights-out rollers for the heads-down crew, ‘Vantage Point’ carries a healthy mix of breaks and emotion and brings you in deep. This one goes out to the heads living on the slightly darker side of the contemporary 160+ bass music scene.

‘Vantage Point’ covers much ground over its 11 tracks: Soothing numbers from Mystic State and Corrupted with blanketing bass lines hold the album up on either end. New boy Gunston comes with a soulful vibe and a wideboy strut. Mtwn and Solace hit harder, channelling Samurai/UVB-76 energy. Imprint’s modern jungle choppage squarely hits the mark, while Crypticz’s Aridia Riddim is a wonky sci-fi trip and a half. GREAZUS and J.Nomad surges forward with intent, Samurai Breaks strikes with breaks and trumpets and Bredren’s ‘She Knows’ grooves along on lush bass and crystal production.
