The Last Hero

Paradise Lost Recordings continues to explore the darker corners of the musical universe and offers up the "Electron EP" by The Last Hero as soundtrack of the moment. This cold-blooded UK duo brings a 6-track EP to Paradise Lost after recent outings on esteemed imprints such as Cylon and Architecture. 

"Cubism" is a stripped-down, hypnotic affair with unrelenting corkscrew bass and wildly swirling fx. Title track "Electron" delves into a mind slipping slowly into madness - musically. Original badman Ink remixes "Electron", taking a different route but ultimately reaching a similar conclusion. "Salvo" is a weirdly captivating, tribal, bassline driller. Bleak atmospheres and militant beats reign supreme as "Slenderman" and "The Purge" harmoniously round out the experience.

At the same time claustrophobic and expansive, the sound of The Last Hero effectively employs on-edge atmospheres, tribal kick-centric beats and percussion, and the omnipresent-brickwall-of-subbass approach to create a bleak, sinister, yet inviting vibe. This is the “Electron EP”, and in these muddy waters, dread runs deep.
